According to Sankhya philosophy-meditation is the liberation of the mind from all disturbing and distracting emotions; though and desires ‘it is process of silencing that ever wandering and unsteady mind. It is practices which help us to find stability and calmness of the mind.

Simple technique of meditation – sit in any meditation posture that allows one to sit comfortable and motionless for a long time, without any strain, the back, neck and head should be kept straight, with mouth and eyes closed. The hand rest on the knees. Compose the mind and relax the whole body with deep breathing.

The facial muscles, eyelids and similarly all parts of the body should be free from any tension and movement. Concentrate on the various parts of the body from toe to head and vice versa. Practice kapalabhati, beastlike (blowing out thought nostrils with strokes 100 times) and nadishodhan (alternate breathing though nostrils) for a new moment. Withdrawing all your awareness and senses from the outward worldly touch g, concentrate on the process of breathing in and out.

Whenever the mind tries to wander outward. Draw it back inward. Do not visualise or imagine anything. Do not feed or entertain various thoughts. Simply go on watching the process of breathing without any other thought, motive or desire for a result etc. in the earlier stages, the meditation need not need continued for long hours. It should be increased gradually.

Benefits of Meditation: It gives poise and clarity of vision. It also has a tonic effect on the health. It calms emotions and strengthens the nerves. It purifies the inner being, thoroughly cleansing the mental apparatus and removing all unconscious, obstructive forces to the unitary functioning of the personality. It acts as Yogic Tranquilliser. It brings peace of Mind. It brings health, happiness and longevity etc…

Cautions-: If anybody misuses the power acquired through Meditation, he or she will surely lose them in the long run and also may fall into troubles etc…
